I *loved* the first few Anita Blake books!!! I think the first 6 or 7 kept me glued to the pages. After that, she got a bit to into the erotica aspect of it all and I lost interest. But to this day, those first ones are some of my all time favorite books! I'm also a big Robert Crais fan. I've read all the Elvis Cole books and am one of the legions of readers who adore Joe Pike.

I just recently read the first few Lee Child "Jack Reacher" books. Those are some bloody stories, but they are really good!

You have a lot of great books on this list!

Lezlie: Thank you for the compliment!
I am the same way with Anita Blake series. I read OBSIDIAN BUTTERFLY first and was hooked. I read several more and found the newest ones were all about sex and I just got tired. So no more. I haven't read this first one yet and looking forward to it.
Elvis Cole makes me smile and Joe Pike intrigues me. I've only read one Lee Child book and looking forward to more.

I am well underway on my First in Series list. Read THYME OF DEATH - Susan Wittig Albert, THE MONKEY'S RAINCOAT - Robert Crais, ILL WIND - Rachel Caine.
Getting ready to read GUILTY PLEASURES - Laurell K Hamilton. I think I have more on the shelf to add to the list. In case I finish sooner. I might at this rate.

So, I discovered that I'd already read GUILTY PLEASURES at some point in the past. Even though Joy suggested we could re-read firs in series books, Life is too short and I have sooo many books on Mt Git'r'Read and on the wishlist, I moved it to the trade stack.
